PBC Celebrates Breakfast With the Champions Day

The Peach Belt Conference hosted Breakfast With the Champions day as part of the 2008 PBC soccer championships. Over 120 local area youth soccer players joined five PBC men's and women's teams at Blanchard Woods Park for breakfast and a soccer clinic. Be sure to check the photo gallery.

The event was the first community engagement project undertaken by the Peach Belt Conference.  Youth soccer players from the Augusta, Ga., area were invited to the free clinic for breakfast and a chance to interact with PBC student-athletes.  The participants were given clinics by PBC head coaches and players and collected autographs afterwards.

"Its an opportunity for student-athletes to engage with the local community," said PBC commissioner David Brunk. "Youth soccer is very popular in Augusta and the CSRA at large and it was wonderful to intergrate this kind of event with our soccer tournament.  This is just the first step in a total community engagement initative the Peach Belt is undertaking and we hope to have an event like this one at each of our championships."

Publix and Coca-Cola provided each participant with a free t-shirt and provided breakfast and beverages for everyone involved.
