CSU's Hall, Gray to Represent USA in Olympic Games

Colorado Springs, CO – Former NCAA individual national champion and Columbus State University rifle team member Jonathan Hall and current CSU assistant coach Jamie Gray will both dawn the red, white and blue in the upcoming Olympic Games as the duo qualified for the U.S. National Rifle Team.

Hall, who won the 2010 NCAA national championship in air rifle, will compete in the 10-meter air rifle competition. The Carrollton native is currently ranked 53rd in the world in the event. The gold medal for the event will be given out on Monday, July 30.

Gray will have two chances to bring home the gold as she is competing in the 10-meter air rifle event and the 50-meter three-position competition. Her first chance for a medal comes on July 28 in the 10-meter air rifle event where she is the 26th best female shooter in the world. A week later, Gray will take her shots in the 50-meter three-position competition which takes place on Saturday, June 4. Currently ranked tenth in the event, Gray is one of the most talented shooters in the field as she held the top-ranking for some time last year.

In 2008, Gray competed in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing just missing out on a medal in the 10-meter air rifle event coming in fourth. She also finished fifth in the 50-meter three-position competition.

Gray just wrapped up her first season with the CSU rifle team in the spring.
