North Georgia Adds Four Players in Early Signing Period

DAHLONEGA, GA – North Georgia College & State University head coach Tom Cantrell and his staff announced the signing of four players to national letters of intent during the early signing period.

All four players have played in highly successful programs prior to signing with North Georgia and are expected to help continue the winning tradition for the Saints.

Cantrell is very excited to have these talented players joining the North Georgia program.

Jordan Erisman, Brookwood HS, SS
While playing for Rick Howard at Brookwood High School, Erisman helped lead the Broncos to the State Semi-finals. Following his junior year, he was selected as the starting shortstop for Team Georgia and was also selected to the Georgia Dugout Club Top 100. In addition to his performance on the field, he was selected as a scholar athlete at Brookwood his senior year.

Blake Hobby, Tattnall Square Academy, RHP
During Hobby’s junior year, he posted an impressive 8-1 record with a 0.90 ERA and helped lead Tattnall to the State Playoffs. He was selected to the All-Regional team his sophomore and junior years. He has also been selected to the Georgia Dugout Club Top 100 and is currently a Wendy’s Heisman Athlete Nominee along with being on the Macon Telegraph All-Middle Georgia Team.

Matt Smith, Kell HS, RHP
During Smith’s junior season, he helped lead Kell High School to the state quarterfinals. Over the past summer, Smith was a member of the 16-under East Cobb Astros that won the AAU National Championship. He recorded two wins in the tournament and a save in the national championship game. For his exceptional character and achievement in the classroom, Smith has been awarded a scholarship from Reebok.

Brandon Garcia, Gordan Junior College, LHP
Garcia was one of the most successful pitchers in Georgia junior college last season posting a 10-2 record, a 2.12 ERA, and leading Gordan to the Georgia Junior College Finals. For his accomplishments, he was selected to the GJCAA All-Region Second Team. Garcia was also a member of the Dean’s List at Gordan during fall 2006.
