Player of the Week: Jonnie Geiger, Columbus State

Geiger hit .474 in four games last week out of the leadoff spot with a double, a triple, three runs scored and three RBIs. He began with a 2-for-5 outing aginst Montevallo, driving in two, then hit .500 in a three-game series with #22 Francis Marion. The senior went 6-for-9 in Saturday’s doubleheader with two runs scored and another batted in. In the nightcap he went 3-for-5 and was just a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. He was also perfect defensively in center field, making 12 putouts including one diving catch that led to a double play, giving him an assist. Currently seventh in the PBC wih a .386 batting average and is also second in the league in hits and leads with 20 stolen bases.
