Pitcher of the Week: Cody Walden, Armstrong Atlantic State

Walden earned the Pirates a berth in the PBC Championships with a complete-game five-hitter, beating Lander, 2-1, in Saturday’s first game of a doubleehader … Walden tied a season high with nine strikeouts and also upped his league-leading pickoff total to 14 with a pair...he set down the side four times in the game and only allowed one hit after Lander scored their lone run of the game...moved into 10th in the PBC in strikeouts and is also among the league leaders in innings pitched and wins.
