Brandenberger Signs NLI to Play Baseball at Flagler

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Jake Brandenberger, a left-handed pitcher from North Port High School in North Port, Fla., has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Flagler College as announced by Flagler head coach Dave Barnett on Monday. Brandenberger was 4-2 with a 2.40 earned run average at North Port last year.

"Jake made great strides his junior year at North Port and we know his best days are ahead of him," Barnett said. "Jake has the ability to pitch immediately, but we know he will grow and mature into a caliber pitcher needed to win in the Peach Belt Conference.”

Brandenberger has lettered in baseball for three seasons, including this upcoming season. He struck out 60 batters in 50.0 innings pitched last year. Brandenberger was named the team’s “Most Valuable Pitcher” and was named All-Area as a sophomore.

Flagler is a member of NCAA Division II and the Peach Belt Conference. The Saints open the 2010 season on the road, at the Savannah College of Art and Design, on Feb. 2 at 4 p.m.
