Fourteen PBC Baseball Players Named Preseason All-American

AUGUSTA, GA – Fourteen Peach Belt Conference baseball players were named preseason All-Americans as the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) released the ABCA/Rawlings preseason teams. PBC players dominated the 23 selections from the southeast region with Armstrong Atlantic State, Montevallo, Francis Marion, Georgia College and UNC Pembroke each placing two players on the team. Augusta State, USC Aiken, North Georgia and Columbus State had one player each.

In addition to the All-America teams, the ABCA released ‘Player to Watch’ and ‘Newcomer to Watch’ lists for the 2012 season. Nine PBC players were named Players to Watch, no more than one from nine schools, and 10 were named Newcomers to Watch, again with no school having more than one.

The PBC will release its own preseason All-Conference team on Jan. 26.
