Rodgers powered the Patriots to a win in the second game of their three-game sweep of Augusta to begin league play. The junior righty from Rock Hill, S.C., pitched eight innings, allowing eight hits, three runs (two earned) and walking one with seven strikeouts. He threw 103 pitches in the game, 76 for strikes. After allowing two home runs in the second inning, he set down 11 Jaguars in a row, a streak broken by an error in the fifth. Rodgers moves to 2-0 on the season with a 1.29 ERA. He is tied for first in the PBC in wins and is sixth in strikeouts and seventh in ERA.
