Baseball Player of the Week: Elijah Helton, UNC Pembroke

Helton registered 13 hits in four games last week and did not strike out in 18 at-bats, hitting .722 in four games. The senior outfielder from Knoxville, Tenn., tallied a .750 on-base percentage and a .944 slugging percentage (1.694 OPS). He turned in multiple-hit games in all four starts, including a 5-for-6 performance with three runs scored in the opener at Anderson.  He doubled, triples and scored three times in midweek victory at Barton. He hit .714 in the three-game series at Anderson, stealing a base on a 3-for-5 outing in series finale.  Did not commit an error in four total defensive chances in right field.  Helton is currently second in the PBC with a .414 batting average on the season.  He is also 11thin on-base percentage and slugging.
