Player of the Week: Dwight Tolbert, Armstrong Atlantic State

Tolbert averaged 26.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in the Pirates’ two wins this week, wrapping up the No. 3 seed in the upcoming PBC Tournament. He played all 45 minutes in AASU’s 77-66 overtime win at Francis Marion, hitting the game-tying shot with five seconds left in regulation to force the extra period. Scored 24 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor, including 5-of-7 three-pointers. He then hit for a season-high 29 points to go with 10 rebounds in AASU’s 81-67 win over Lander, including hitting a perfect 13-of-13 from the free throw line, one shy of a school record performance . The junior hit 48.1 percent from the floor, 63.6 percent from three-point range and 95.2 percent from the free throw line on the week.
