Men’s Basketball Player of the Week: R.J. Sessions, Georgia Southwestern

Sessions came through when his team needed it the most in two wins this week.  The junior guard from Columbus, Ga., hit a pair of free throws with one second on the clock as the Hurricanes beat Georgia College 85-82 in overtime.  He then hit a three-pointer and scored five points in the final 36 seconds as GSW beat Young Harris 88-82 in OT.  For the week, Sessions averaged 20.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 62% from the floor and 63.6% from long range.  He scored 11 of his 40 total points in overtime periods.  He added 2.0 steals, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 assists per game.  He is currently fifth in the league in steals, sixth in three-pointers made and leads the conference in free throw percentage.
