May 15, 2008 10 PBC Golfers Named to PING All-Region Team NORMAN, OK – 10 Peach Belt
Conference golfers have been named to the PING All-Southeast region
team. GCSU placed four on the team with Juan Bialet, Francisco
Bide, Niclas Johansson and Joe Young. USC Aiken was next with three
members: Roberto Diaz, Jeff Goff and J.P. Solis. Columbus
State’s Andrew Georgiou, Clayton State’s Will Wilcox
and Armstrong Atlantic State’s Chris Wolfe were also
honored.
The All-Region team consists of 13 total members from the Peach
Belt and South Atlantic conferences. Each honoree is now eligible
for All-America consideration. All-Region teams consist of 10
players selected by the GCAA (Golf Coaches Association of America)
committees and also any player ranked in the top 50 of the final
Golfstat individual rankings. The southeast region was one of only
three to have more than 10 members and contained the second-most
behind the south region with 17 members. The PING All-America team
will be released later this week as the NCAA Division II
Championships come to a close.
