Golfer of the Week: Patrick Garrett, Georgia College
Garrett won his first collegiate tournament as he fired a
two-under par 70 in the final round of the First Federal
Southeastern Collegiate. The sophomore finished with a
three-round total of 212, four under par, and held off AASU's Aaron
Elrod and Columbus State's Rourke Van der Spuy to claim the title
as Georgia College as a team won their first event of the
spring. Garrett was a stroke behind the lead following his
first-round 70 but then carded an even-par 72 in the second round,
both played on Monday, to hold the lead on the first day. He
maintained that lead with his final round 70, tied for the lowest
round of the day. With his scores, Garrett moves into fifth in the
PBC in stroke average at 72.9 per round.
