UNCP's Lambert and Moore Named Golfers of the Week

Men's Golfer of the Week

Scott Lambert, UNC Pembroke
Sr., Newcastle, England

Lambert finished in a tie for second at the Richard Rendleman Invitational, which UNCP won for the second straight season, this time by 10 strokes.  Lambert fired rounds of 71 and 69 to finish two-under-par 140, just one stroke behind Belmont Abbey's Adam Hedges.  Lambert's second-round score is the third 69 he has fired this season, and second straight tournament in which he has done so, and his tie for second place is his best result of his career.  With his effort he has moved into third in the Peach Belt with a 72.7 stroke average for the season.

Women's Golfer of the Week

Meghan Moore, UNC Pembroke
Jr., Durham, N.C.

Moore won her first tournament of the year and third in her career at the Armstrong Pirate Women's Intercollegiate with rounds of 76 and 77.  The junior, a three-time PBC Player of the Week last season, won the event by three strokes over Armstrong's Jenna Birch and five ahead of Lander's Ashley Shinn.  Moore's efforts helped the ninth-ranked Braves to win the tournament, their second straight victory and fifth of the year.  Her win also catapulted her into the top spot in the PBC with a 76.4 stroke average.
