Defensive Player of the Week: Wes Bowers, UNC Pembroke

Bowers gave up only one goal in 160 minutes last week, making six saves as the Braves extended their winning streak to five and earned the #3 seed in the PBC Tournament. He started with his first career shutout in a weather-shortened 4-0 road win at Chowan. He then made five big saves, including one on a penalty kick, as the Braves beat USC Aiken 3-1 in the season finale, denying the Pacers the PBC title. Bowers has started the last four games for the Braves and UNCP has won all four, making them the hottest team heading into the PBC Tournament.
