Men’s Tennis Player of the Week: KP Pannu, Columbus State

The top-ranked singles player in NCAA Division II for the entire season, Pannu claims his second straight weekly honor and third overall after winning all the singles and two of three doubles matches last week.  The senior from Wellington, New Zealand, beat Federico Herrera Duran of #1 (NAIA) Georgia Gwinnett 7-5, 6-1, then took out Augusta’s Patrick Oliveira 7-5, 6-2 and Georgia College’s #6 Robin Moeller 6-4, 6-4.  In doubles, he partnered with Matei Avram to beat Augusta’s Ferreira/Bolle 6-3 and paired with Tomasso Schold to beat GC’s Kohn/Connelly 6-2. His lone loss came at doubles 6-7 to Georgia Gwinnett as they won their 100thmatch in a row.  Pannu is now 15-1 in singles play and has the highest winning percentage of any singles player in the PBC, all coming at the #1 spot.
