PBC Men’s Tennis Players & Teams Honored by ITA

TEMPE, ARIZ – Several Peach Belt Conference men's tennis players were honored with regional awards by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).  PBC players claimed four regional honors and the team Community Service Award.

Columbus State's KP Pannu was named the southeast region Senior Player of the Year while, North Georgia's Hugues Renaud was named the Most Improved Senior and teammate Ryan Gaskin the Player to Watch.  Georgia College's Robin Moeller received the Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award.

As a senior, Pannu helped lead the Cougars to a 25-2 overall record as the top-ranked team in the nation. He went 23-1 this season in singles play with all 24 of his matches played at the top spot. His only loss on the season in singles came to the second-ranked individual player in a third set tiebreaker. Since then he has won 20 in a row, including 19 straight-set wins at the top court this year.

Pannu mainly played at second doubles this season amassing an overall record of 20-5, including having won six of the last seven with his new partner Tommaso Schold.

The native of Wellington, New Zealand took home PBC Player of the Year honors for the second consecutive season and was an All-Conference selection for the fourth consecutive year.

All regional award winners are now eligible for the ITA National Awards, which will be announced next week.
