Peach Belt Cross Country Teams Run at NCAA Regionals

HUNTSVILLE, ALA -- Columbus State finished 10th and GCSU 11th at the 2007 NCAA South Region Championships which were run in Huntsville on Saturday.  Florida Southern won the event with 61 points and earned a spot in the NCAA National Championships in Joplin, Mo.  Alabama-Huntsville and Tampa also earned spots in the nationals.  Unfortunately, no PBC teams or runners qualified for the final meet.

Columbus State's Stewart Helton was the top PBC runner in the region, covering the 10k course in 33:59 to finish 24th.  GCSU's Josh Hollar was 26th in a time of 34:12.  Emmanuel Kirwa of Benedict won the race in a time of 31:53.

North Georgia finished 15th while Clayton State was 16th and Francis Marion 18th at the regional.
