Jan 18, 2008 Georgia Southwestern Adds Four to Softball Signing Class Georgia Southwestern State University Head Coach Eddie Ward
announced the signing of four Georgia high school seniors during
the early signing period. These players will be joining the Lady
Hurricanes roster in the fall of 2008.
Anna Dankewich, an outfielder and catcher, will be coming to GSW
from North Forsyth High School in Cumming, Georgia. Also from North
Forsyth High School is Heather Denny, an outfielder and catcher.
Gabby Buck, a utility player from Fayetteville, Georgia will arrive
at GSW from LaGrange Academy. And Rachel Thomas, a middle infielder
will be coming from Central Carrollton High School in Carrollton,
Georgia.
When asked about his signing class, Coach Ward replied “We
are excited and very pleased with our early signees. Anna and
Heather, both from North Forsyth, will come in and shape up our
outfield for years to come. Gabby is a very exciting player who
carries a dynamite bat. Rachel will be a strong defensive player
with a great attitude to bring spirit to our club. This recruiting
class really stacks up in talent and will help Georgia Southwestern
close the gap in the Peach Belt Conference.”
