Flagler's Collings Named National Softball Player of the Week
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Flagler College senior first baseman
Breezy Collings has been named as the Louisville Slugger Division
II National Player of the Week for games played Feb. 13-19.
She is the first Flagler softball player to be selected as the
national player of the week.
Collings batted a team-high .692, with nine hits, two doubles, and
three home runs, as well as 10 runs batted in, and scored four runs
to help lead the Saints to a 4-0 week. She was selected as the
Peach Belt Conference’s Player of the Week. Collings also led
the team with a 1.538 slugging percentage as well as a .643 on-base
percentage. In the second game against Eckerd on Sunday, Collings
went 3-for-4 with five RBI, which tied a school single game record.
She hit two doubles and a home run, just one total base away from
tying another school record. In the first game against Webber
International on Saturday, it was her two-run home run in the
bottom of the seventh inning that lifted the Saints to victory.
For the season, Collings is batting .538 with 21 hits, two
doubles, a team-high four home runs, 15 RBI and has scored six
runs. She has a .897 slugging percentage and a .558 on-base
percentage.
Flagler is currently 6-4 and getting ready to play in this
weekend’s Citrus Classic in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
