Game 14 – Lander vs. Francis Marion – Quotes

Lander Head Coach Kevin Pedersen:
“When you play Francis Marion, they make you prepare. I’m very proud of the way our players came out. We had a game plan and these players believe in it 100 percent and they came out an executed it. They didn’t get frustrated.”

“A lot of people forgot about us. The message we want to get out to people is that this team has won seven of their last eight games. We feel like we’ve regrouped. As a coaching staff, we recognize that we need to go inside more. We don’t want to do a lot of talking. We’ve got one more game.”

Lander’s Tiara Good:
“If we have to start outside in, that’s what helps us out down the stretch. After I hit those threes, they came out and left our post wide open. And once you give them the ball; the work is easy after that. My job is done.”

“We don’t want to dwell on this one. We’ve got to look forward. Armstrong is a good team with an excellent coach and excellent players.”

Francis Marion Head Coach Heather Macy:
“In the first half we just did not play very good basketball. They have got two exceptional basketball players and that’s what seniors do at tournament time.”

“It just seemed like we didn’t get a bounce. Things that would normally be steals for us became three-pointers at the other end. It just wasn’t our night and you have to give that to Lander, they did an awesome job.”

“I don’t feel in any way that we are declining or have hit a wall. I think that we have young, inexperienced players and this is very new to them. We’re going to get better from it.”
