Feb 24, 2010 Women's Basketball Daily Update - Feb. 24 The next-to-last games of the regular season are in the books
and Wednesday's games have set the table for what will be a
thrilling conclusion to the regular season on Saturday with several
tournament spots still up for grabs.

GCSU clinched the top spot in the west division with their 64-54
win over Montevallo. Chimere Jordan had 21 points and
equalled her career-high with 11 rebounds. Dominique Huffin
added 12 points.
Columbus State took out Georgia Southwestern 62-52. Phebe
Smith had 18 points and eight rebounds while Monique Jefferson
added 16 points. GSW remains tied with Montevallo as both
teams fight for the fourth and final tournament slot in the west.
Clayton State beat North Georgia 71-63, forcing 26 Lady Saint
turnovers. Teshymia Tillman had 21 points while Tanisha
Woodard added 13.
In the east, Lander improved to 11-0 on their home court with a
74-52 win over USC Aiken and assured themselves of at least a share
of the regular-season championship in process. Shannon
McKever had 20 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks while Ciara
Lyons and Mukia Myrick each added 10.
Francis Marion kept pace with a 105-86 win at Flagler, setting a
new PBC record with 35 assists in the game. Shannon
Singleton-Bates, the reigning PBC Player of the Week, led with 25
points and six rebounds. Eboni Fields added 17. The
Patriots shot 71% from the floor in the second half.
Armstrong Atlantic State kept their tournament hopes alive with
a must-win 83-80 overtime thriller against UNC Pembroke.
Portia Jones had 20 points and 10 rebounds as AASU as a team set a
school record with 13 made three-pointers. UNCP's JaToya Kemp
scored 41 in the losing effort.
