FMU's Turner; USCA's Hill Named Basketball Players of the Week

Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Turner averaged a double-double with 20.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in two games for the Patriots.  The senior led a second-half comeback against Armstrong with a career-high 30 points, hitting 10 of 13 free throws as FMU rallied from a 60-48 halftime deficit.  He added 13 rebounds in that game.  He started the week with 11 points and seven boards in a loss at Elizabeth City State.  He added 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists per game.  With his output, the preseason All-Conference selection has moved into 12th in the PBC in scoring and 6th in the league in rebounding.

Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Hill led the Pacers to three wins last week, averaging 12.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.7 steals per game.  She shot 68.2 percent (15-22) from the field and hit 80% from the line.  She scored 19 points with five assists and four steals, hitting nine of 11 shots from the floor, in the Pacers win over Armstrong.  She added 10 points, six in the overtime period, with four boards and three steals against Anderson.   The PBC leader in assists, she is also sixth in the league in field goal percentage, seventh in steals and fifth in assist to turnover ratio.
