Golfer of the Week: Kelly Pearce, Armstrong

Pearce became the first Armstrong women's golfer to card a subpar round, shooting a school-record 70 to help the Armstrong women's golf team to a third-place finish at the Mercer Eat-A-Peach Invitational, leading the team to a school-record 305 team score on Monday.  The junior from Albany, Ga., finished the tournament with a two-day 156 total, tying for eighth individually. Her 70 eclipsed the previous single-round low of 73, set by Katherine Hooks on February 9, 2008, at the Kiawah Island Invitational.  She becomes only the second Armstrong women’s golfer to be named the PBC Player of the Week, joining teammate Victoria Bennett, who won the award in 2009.
