Flagler's Dahlenburg, UNCP's Watkins Named PBC Golfers of the Week
Men's Golfer of the Week: Joel Dahlenburg,
Flagler
Dahlenburg finished third in the second annual Jay Jennison
Memorial which concluded Tuesday at The Palencia Club in St.
Augustine. He carded a tournament record 67 in the second round
which put Dahlenburg one stroke behind the leader. He finished with
a 2-under par 214 and helped lead Flagler to a sixth-place finish.
The tournament was the season opener for Flagler and for
Dahlenburg, whose 67 was the single lowest round of the tournament
and is one of two 67s shot in the PBC this season. The senior
from St. Augustine is now third in the PBC with a 71.3 stroke
average.

Women's Golfer of the Week: Dana Watkins, UNC
Pembroke
Watkins led the charge as the Lady Braves crushed the field at the
Tusculum Fall Classic. The sophomore from Clayton, N.C. fired
rounds of 74 and 72 to win the individual title, finishing one
stroke ahead of teammate Shauna Walor. The 2010 PBC Freshman
of the Year, Watkins wins her first career tournament and has now
placed first and third in the two tournaments UNCP has competed
in. At Tusculum, the Lady Braves won their second straight
event to open the season, finishing 25 strokes ahead of their
nearest competitor. Watkins now leads the PBC in stroke
average with 75.8 and her second-round 72 at Tusculum is one of two
72s shot in the league this year, tied for second-lowest.
