Nov 29, 2007 Parr Resigns as GCSU Women's Soccer Coach MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Georgia College & State
University director of athletics Stan Aldridge has announced that
Robert Parr has resigned as head coach of GCSU women’s
soccer.
“I have enjoyed having the opportunity to build this program
from its first days, and am especially proud of the many things we
achieved on and off the field this year, “ Parr said.
“I will miss GCSU and the fine players on this team, and wish
them continued success in the future.”
Parr compiled a 33-28-8 (.536) record over his four seasons as head
coach, the first and only in Bobcat women’s soccer history,
and went 13-5 this year. Over those seasons, he directed players to
four All-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) selections, with sophomore
Morgan Cobb (Cataula, Ga.) reaching Daktronics All-Southeast Region
honors this season. The program also added its first ESPN The
Magazine Academic All-American this season, when junior Beth
Coughlin (Douglasville, Ga.) earned third-team honors.
Aldridge announced that a national search for Parr’s
replacement will begin immediately with hopes of having a head
coach in place by the spring exhibition season.
