Three PBC Women's Soccer Players Named Academic All-American
A record three Peach Belt Conference women’s soccer players have been named Academic All-Americans by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Georgia College & State University’s Beth Coughlin and Armstrong Atlantic State’s Kristin Burton and Ashley Elam were all selected third-team Academic All-Americans, an award widely regarded as the most prestigous a student-athlete can recieve.

The University of Tampa got a late goal in the second half to tie the game and then went on to win in a penalty kick shootout over host Columbus State in the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Quarterfinal on Sunday.

Six PBC women's soccer players have been named to the Academic All-Region team by CoSIDA. Three players: Kristin Burton and Ashley Elam from Armstrong Atlantic State and GCSU's Beth Couglin, were placed on the first team and are now eligible for Academic All-America consideration.

12 PBC women's soccer players have been selected to the Daktronics All-Southeast Region team as selected by sports information directors. Seven of those players were named first team and will be eligible for All-America honors.

Columbus State Advances to Title Game With Hard-Fought 1-0 Victory over GCSU
Columbus State got a goal from Kellie Myles in the game's 52nd minute and made it stand, taking a 1-0 win over Georgia College & State University in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals. CSU advances to face Armstrong Atlantic State, 3-1 winners over Lander in Friday's first semifinal, in Sunday's championship game. The championship is a rematch of the 2006 final which CSU won on penalty kicks.

The Peach Belt Conference released the 20-member women’s soccer All-Conference team on Thursday. Clayton State’s Olaitan Yusuf was named the PBC Player of the Year. Columbus State’s Stephanie Parrish is the Freshman of the Year and Lander’s Chris Ayer was named the Coach of the Year.

Columbus State's Sarah Hawkins took a Lindsey Morgan pass and beat the USC Aiken defense for a goal just over 14 minutes into play Tuesday night, and the Lady Cougars never looked back from there, taking a 7-0 win over USC Aiken.

Columbus State Voted Women’s Soccer Preseason Favorite
AUGUSTA, GA -- The Columbus State Lady Cougars have been selected the 2007 women’s soccer preseason favorite in a poll of the league’s head coaches released on Thursday. CSU received six of a possible eight first-place votes for 62 points, just ahead of Armstrong Atlantic State who was second with 57 and Clayton State who was third with 48. GCSU, North Georgia, UNC Pembroke, USC Aiken, Lander and Georgia Southwestern rounded out the voting.

Peach Belt Announces Women's Soccer Preseason All-Conference Team
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Peach Belt Conference has announced its first-ever Women’s Soccer Preseason All-Conference team as voted on by the league’s Sports Information Directors. 11 players were named to the team including four from Columbus State, three from Armstrong Atlantic State, two from Clayton State and one each for USC Aiken and North Georgia.
