Women’s Soccer Player of the Week: Ann-Cathrin Zabel, Clayton State

Women’s Soccer Player of the Week: Ann-Cathrin Zabel, Clayton State

Zabel had the most productive week of her young career as she delivered three goals and an assist for seven points over the course of two games. The freshman midfielder from Scharme, Germany, posted a hat trick on four shots in a 4-1 win over Truett-McConnell before helping Clayton State to one of the most impressive wins in program history. For just the second time, the Lakers hosted a Division I foe at Laker Field as they took on The Citadel (9/10). In that game she would deliver the assist on the lone goal in a 1-0 shutout of the Bulldogs. It would be only the second win over a DI program in team history and came against a team off to the best start in its program history.  Zabel is currently tied for second in the PBC with three goals and is second alone with seven total points.
