Armstrong's Rumenov, Georgia College's Johnson Named Tennis Players of the Week
Men's Player of the Week
Georgi Rumenov, Armstrong Atlantic State

Rumenov helped the No. 3-ranked Pirates open up their Peach Belt slate successfully by winning his singles and doubles match against No. 13 Augusta State in a rematch of the 2011 PBC Championship match ...Rumenov beat No. 30-ranked Bernardo Fernandes, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles, then teamed with Mikk Irdoja to knock off the No. 20-ranked doubles duo of Henrique Boturao and Fernandes, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles.

Women's Player of the Week
May Johnson, Georgia College

Johnson went undefeated in all four of her matches, taking down UNC Pembroke’s Mia Winterbottom 6-0, 7-5 at the No. 1 singles slot, while pairing with Michelle Ligner to take down Winterbottom and Hannah Herlocker 8-3 in No. 1 doubles action. In GC’s second match of the week, Johnson won at No. 1 singles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0 over Clark Atlanta’s Vanessa Jean-Baptiste. She would then team with Sara Roberts to defeat the duo of Keva Palmer and Jean-Baptiste 8-3.
