TEMPE, Ariz. - For the second consecutive season, Columbus State University women's tennis player Beatriz Lopez was named an All-American by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Lopez was All-America in singles and doubles in 2017, and added another singles honor in 2018. She is the fifth Lady Cougar in program history to earn multiple All-America singles selections.

The Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year, Lopez went 16-5 in singles action, playing all but one match in the top position. The sophomore won six matches against nationally-ranked opponents and was unbeaten in conference action.

Lopez racked up the awards during her sophomore season. In addition to the PBC Player of the Year honor, she was named the ITA Southeast Region and National Player to Watch.

The Lady Cougars posted a 25-3 overall record in 2018, capturing their second straight PBC regular season and tournament championships. CSU also registered its deepest NCAA Tournament run, reaching the national semifinals.
